Tasca, meaning "tavern" or "pub" in Portuguese, is the inspiration behind Tasca Tasca (“TT”), Chef Manuel Azevedo’s dream of bringing the flavors of Portugal to downtown Sonoma. TT offers a casual, lively atmosphere where guests can snack on a variety of Portuguese-inspired dishes, sip on specialty cocktails, and enjoy unique wines.
Chef Manuel, a native of Portugal, has spent his life sharing the rich culinary traditions and culture of his homeland. His journey began in his childhood, helping his mother recreate recipes from their home in the Azores Islands. Over time, he developed his signature style, Cozinha Nova Portuguesa ("New Portuguese Cuisine"), blending the diverse flavors of Portugal with the fresh, high-quality ingredients of Sonoma County.
Tasca Tasca, his second Portuguese restaurant in wine country (alongside LaSalette), celebrates this fusion. The menu highlights Mediterranean and Iberian staples—olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, and saffron—enhanced with exotic spices from Portugal’s seafaring history and seasonal Californian produce. It’s a delightful experience for fans of traditional Portuguese fare and adventurous food lovers alike.
